Georgia does not yet have a Center for Independent Living to serve every county. If you live in a county not served by a CIL and are need to services or supports, a good place to start is with the Aging and Disability Resource Connection.
The Aging & Disability Resource Connection is an information network administered by the Georgia Department of Human Services Division of Aging Services in partnership with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. The ADRC serves older individuals, individuals with disabilities of all ages, families, caregivers and professionals and aims to:
- Provide accurate information about publicly and privately financed long-term supports and services.
- Offer a consumer-oriented approach to learning about the availability of services in the home and community.
- Alleviate the need for multiple calls and/or visits to receive services.
- Support individuals and family members who are aging or living with a disability.
