much, Nancy. 13:13:14 Appreciate you calling in. 13:13:17 >> We have Cathy baker that has 13:13:20 called in from the SILC office. 13:13:22 >> We have Becky Tuttle. 13:13:27 We have Kelly RHYNE. 13:13:28 Parker Glick is actually 13:13:33 attending a -- graduation 13:13:35 ceremony so he will not be with 13:13:35 us today. 13:13:40 Did I miss anyone? 13:13:50 And is YAZ on the call? 13:13:54 We have Sheila. 13:13:57 We have ROCHELLE. 13:13:59 Is Matthew on the call, Matthew 13:14:03 Dylan? 13:14:13 And is Sam on the call? 13:14:18 Samuel okay. 13:14:19 >> Hey there. 13:14:22 This is Danny house Lee. 13:14:23 My connection froze up a few 13:14:29 minutes ago so I don't know if I 13:14:30 was -- 13:14:33 >> Thank you, Danny. 13:14:35 >> Thank you so much for calling 13:14:36 in. 13:14:46 So as of now we do not have a 13:14:49 quorum, unfortunately we have a 13:14:53 few of our board members -- 13:14:56 actually we have a couple of 13:14:59 board members on the call so we 13:15:00 really can't take care of any 13:15:02 official business today, but 13:15:06 what we will do is go through 13:15:07 the agenda and then maybe toward 13:15:07 the end of the meeting should 13:15:07 somebody, a couple of other 13:15:09 board members call in we will be 13:15:11 able to take care of more 13:15:13 business. 13:15:17 So if there's nothing else we 13:15:20 will go through the agenda and 13:15:24 Shelly, if you can do that for 13:15:28 us and then we will just go 13:15:32 right into it -- Sheila, if you 13:15:34 can do that for us. 13:15:35 >> Okay. 13:15:36 So we're not going do any -- we 13:15:36 can't do any of the approval to 13:15:37 the agenda correct because we 13:15:40 don't have a quorum and maybe 13:15:41 toward the end, some people may 13:15:46 be having a hard time calling in 13:15:50 or connecting so we will just 13:15:53 try to maybe come back toward 13:15:54 the end. 13:15:55 >> Okay. 13:15:55 >> All right. 13:15:59 Well, then the next thing on the 13:15:59 agenda today will be the budget 13:15:59 and review and that will be 13:16:01 introduced by Ms. Becky today. 13:16:04 >> Is she in? 13:16:05 >> Yes, I am. 13:16:06 I'm here. 13:16:07 Hello. 13:16:08 >> Okay. 13:16:10 >> Becky, I'm sorry. 13:16:12 For inanyone who is not speaking 13:16:13 -- for anyone who is not 13:16:15 speaking if you would be so kind 13:16:17 as to mute your phone and then 13:16:19 if you have any questions you 13:16:22 can either share it in the chat 13:16:25 or raise your hand or just 13:16:28 unmute your phone and we will be 13:16:30 able to hopefully be able to 13:16:32 answer and address any of your 13:16:35 question requests or -- 13:16:36 questions or concerns. 13:16:37 Go ahead, Becky. 13:16:41 >> We are in the middle of our 13:16:43 fiscal year, and this is how it 13:16:47 breaks down so far as what we 13:16:48 have spent. 13:16:52 On the personnel we have spent 13:17:04 60,$791.97 which leaves about 13:17:12 66,2 -- 13:17:17 >> Becky, I think you have 13:17:18 frozen. 13:17:21 Are you back? 13:17:22 >> Yeah. 13:17:23 >> Okay. 13:17:25 You froze up on us. 13:17:27 >> Okay. 13:17:31 I'm sorry. 13:17:35 Regular operating we have spend 13:17:36 24,209. 13:17:40 We have a balance of 10,790.38. 13:17:42 So far we have spent 69% of that 13:17:46 budget. 13:17:48 >> On travel we have spent so 13:17:54 far 21,786.48 which leaves a 13:18:00 balance of 18,213.52, and that 13:18:05 is reflecting a 554 percentage 13:18:08 usage of that budget. 13:18:09 -- 54 percentage of that budget. 13:18:11 >> And the facility cost which 13:18:13 is our rent and parking we have 13:18:22 spent 19,602.92 leaving us a 13:18:26 balance of 10 -- 13:18:31 >> We lost you again, Becky. 13:18:40 Keep talking, just in case. 13:18:40 Becky? 13:18:42 Go back to I think you had just 13:18:46 finished facility cost. 13:18:48 You keep freezing on us. 13:18:48 >> Okay. 13:18:50 Do you want me to go back over 13:18:51 facility costs? 13:18:54 >> Yes. 13:18:58 >> We have spent 19,602.92 13:19:05 leaving a balance of 10,397.08 13:19:08 which reflects 65% of that line 13:19:11 item spent to date. 13:19:14 On the per diem and contracts, 13:19:23 we have spent 21,634.18 and that 13:19:29 leaves a balance of 3,365.82. 13:19:31 >> I don't know what's going on, 13:19:31 Becky. 13:19:39 We keep losing you. 13:19:40 >> Shelly: 13:19:44 I will go over it. 13:19:47 I don't know what's going on, 13:19:47 Becky. 13:19:50 Let me hopefully finish for you. 13:19:51 >> Becky: 13:19:51 all right. 13:19:54 >> Shelly because you keep 13:19:55 buffering. 13:19:57 Go back to per diem and 13:19:59 contracts, a budget of 25,000. 13:20:02 We have spent 21,000 of that 13:20:07 with a remaining balance of 33 13:20:11 -- 3,365-dollars. 13:20:13 80% of that budgets. 13:20:19 Our telecom we budgeted for 13:20:19 10,000. 13:20:22 We have spent 3500 we have a 13:20:28 remaining balance of 6455, 30% 13:20:30 of the budget has been spent -- 13:20:35 35% of the budget and for the 13:20:36 home today if you case program, 13:20:38 it was budgeted for 200,000 13:20:41 dollars and as you guys know 13:20:44 that had been stopped right 13:20:48 toward the end of last year when 13:20:53 the governor decided to ask for 13:20:57 a 4% cut in programs for this 13:21:00 year and possibly 6% for next 13:21:03 year. 13:21:06 We did successfully advocate to 13:21:10 have that money restored so we 13:21:13 had spent approximately how 13:21:14 much, Becky? 13:21:18 A hundred and -- 140 or 160 with 13:21:23 a remaining 21,000 left for that 13:21:24 budget. 13:21:26 Is that correct? 13:21:32 >> It is 178,525. 13:21:33 >> Yes. 13:21:37 >> So that money has -- that 13:21:39 21,000 hark restored; correct, 13:21:42 -- has been restored; correct, 13:21:43 Becky? 13:21:45 She froze up on me again. 13:21:49 So I believe we just received 13:21:51 that money back because for a 13:21:53 minute there we actually thought 13:21:55 that we were going to have to 13:21:59 eat approximately $80,000, but 13:22:02 WHEW, thankfully because all of 13:22:03 the jobs have been pretty much 13:22:05 approveed and paid for and we 13:22:09 were just waiting on payment, so 13:22:11 thankfully the -- that money has 13:22:14 been restored and so we still 13:22:19 have a remaining 21,000 left. 13:22:21 That's correct, right, Becky, 13:22:24 for this year? 13:22:27 Becky. 13:22:28 Okay. 13:22:29 So we will get back to home 13:22:31 modifications. 13:22:34 So right now we are at 13:22:37 approximately 71% of our budget 13:22:41 has been spent and do we have 13:22:52 any questions on our budget? 13:22:54 With there being no questions we 13:22:56 can go ahead. 13:23:03 I will say we may have to move 13:23:07 money around with our travel. 13:23:11 There has been a few travel 13:23:15 trips that have been planned but 13:23:20 after the shut down quite a bit 13:23:22 of those conferences and stuff 13:23:25 were canceled. 13:23:28 So we may have some flexibility 13:23:30 within that particular line 13:23:30 item. 13:23:34 We don't know, as of yet, if the 13:23:38 nickel conference in -- NIKL 13:23:39 conference at the end of July 13:23:41 will be taking place. 13:23:41 We will schedule to go to that 13:23:42 as well. 13:23:44 But right now that's kind of up 13:23:46 in the air and also what had 13:23:49 been included in the travel, 13:23:52 what has actually been this 13:23:54 board meeting. 13:23:56 We were scheduled to be meeting 13:23:57 in Macon during this particular 13:23:58 time. 13:24:03 So that, again, that was 13:24:04 returned back to the travel 13:24:06 budget so we are probably -- we 13:24:08 don't know, as of yet, what it 13:24:10 is going look like, you know, 13:24:11 just kind of with everything 13:24:13 being unpredictable at this 13:24:15 point, how that's going to work. 13:24:18 So we will probably have to have 13:24:22 some conversations with GVRA in 13:24:24 regards to how we can use that 13:24:27 funding should we have it 13:24:28 remaining toward later this 13:24:29 summer. 13:24:30 We don't want to be at the last 13:24:37 minute trying to utilize that 13:24:38 funding. 13:24:41 So we are on track with 13:24:42 everything. 13:24:45 We are going our best to restore 13:24:46 the funding. 13:24:50 And again, any questions or 13:24:53 concerns? 13:24:57 If not we will go on to our next 13:25:04 line item, and it is I. 13:25:14 In regards to the COVID 19, I do 13:25:17 -- I do want everyone -- I would 13:25:21 like to inform everyone that our 13:25:25 centersfor independent living, 13:25:27 the physical doors may be closed 13:25:31 but they are still operating. 13:25:35 Please be patient in expecting 13:25:39 e-mail and return calls as most 13:25:43 individuals are still working 13:25:45 remotely as is the SILC office. 13:25:49 But we will definitely get to 13:25:52 you at our earliest convenience, 13:25:54 not convenience but earliest 13:25:55 possible. 13:25:57 SILC right now is actually in 13:25:59 the midst of changing our phone 13:26:00 system. 13:26:02 We were able to receive e-mail 13:26:05 notification when ever we 13:26:09 received a call, but the company 13:26:16 we had been working with has 13:26:20 gone out of business so you may 13:26:21 be calling the office and 13:26:21 leaving a message but we're just 13:26:21 not getting that information 13:26:22 until somebody comes into the 13:26:22 office and checks the e-mail. 13:26:23 So the best way right now to 13:26:26 actually reach the SILC office 13:26:28 is to send us an e-mail. 13:26:31 So, again, please be patient. 13:26:37 The centers, during the brag and 13:26:40 steal moment will give an update 13:26:44 on their operating hours and 13:26:46 what is taking place right now, 13:26:49 especially since the governor 13:26:52 has opened up the state to a 13:26:56 certain degree and just trying 13:27:01 to get a clear understanding as 13:27:04 to what is actually permitted. 13:27:07 I know that SILC will more than 13:27:09 likely -- not more than likely, 13:27:13 will remain closed. 13:27:15 We're right now considering the 13:27:21 end of May of the physical doors 13:27:25 being closed until the end of 13:27:30 May, and we will readdress the 13:27:30 center opening up June 1st. 13:27:31 But again, depending on what 13:27:32 takes place within the next few 13:27:35 weeks we will make that 13:27:36 determination for us. 13:27:40 >> Shelly, just -- 13:27:42 >> Okay. 13:27:45 Hold on. 13:27:47 >>> I'm unmute. 13:27:49 >>> Okay. 13:27:51 Go ahead. 13:27:55 >> I wanted to make a comment 13:27:57 from knowing kind of the inside 13:27:58 so far. 13:28:01 This will be -- NICKL will be 13:28:05 announced a virtual conference. 13:28:06 >> Really? 13:28:07 Wow. 13:28:09 >> So that is the -- so it is 13:28:11 not out there yet, but just so 13:28:12 you know, you can pretty much 13:28:15 plan for that to be happening. 13:28:15 >> Okay. 13:28:17 For that to be happening. 13:28:18 Okay. 13:28:20 >> So it will happen virtually. 13:28:22 They're figuring out how that's 13:28:24 going to look, so that's why I 13:28:26 said just, you can expect that. 13:28:28 >> Okay. 13:28:31 Interesting. 13:28:34 And for those of you who don't 13:28:38 know this is the national 13:28:39 counsel CIL for independent 13:28:41 living. 13:28:43 That annual conference taking 13:28:47 place in Washington DC and I 13:28:50 believe they still have some 13:28:53 issues in regards to the cases 13:28:55 not leveling out or maybe this 13:28:57 is why they have decided -- and 13:28:59 then again, people come from all 13:29:03 over the nation so attend the 13:29:07 NICL conferences so that's 13:29:14 probably a wise decision that 13:29:18 they probably make this a 13:29:19 virtual conference. 13:29:20 It is really unfortunate because 13:29:22 for those of you who don't know, 13:29:27 it is the 30th anniversary of 13:29:32 the ADA so I can only imagine 13:29:41 the celebration and cermonies 13:29:43 and information in those classes 13:29:44 that are going to be taking 13:29:46 place during this year's 13:29:49 conference so I am hoping they 13:29:50 will be able to pull this one 13:29:51 off. 13:29:54 So yes, so very interesting. 13:29:56 >> But, of course, again, they 13:29:58 the centers will give an update 13:30:00 in regard to their centers and 13:30:02 their operations. 13:30:04 We definitely want everyone to 13:30:06 remain safe. 13:30:12 Use your best wisdom in growing 13:30:13 about your daily lives. 13:30:17 We have -- we understand most 13:30:18 people definitely need to go 13:30:21 back to work but we really hope 13:30:22 regardless of what you do that 13:30:23 you and the people that are 13:30:25 around you, whether it is your 13:30:28 care giver, your staff, be 13:30:32 considered not only -- be 13:30:33 considerate of not only yourself 13:30:34 but everyone else that's around 13:30:37 you and how it may affect them. 13:30:39 Were there any other really 13:30:40 specific details into COVID that 13:30:42 we would like to cover and/or 13:30:47 address? 13:30:51 You know, the governor has 13:30:55 issued an executive order for 13:30:59 this by opening up the state 13:31:02 again, and it can be a little 13:31:06 tricky, you know, if there's a 13:31:08 lot of -- you may -- and it 13:31:11 should be. 13:31:13 So be mindful of this. 13:31:15 We can get this executive order 13:31:18 out so everyone who -- we will 13:31:20 more than likely place it on our 13:31:24 web site no later than Monday, 13:31:25 if not today. 13:31:28 And you can go through this. 13:31:33 It is approximately a 25-page 13:31:36 executive order, so it is kind 13:31:40 of hard to pull pertinent things 13:31:41 out right away but we will make 13:31:44 that, all of that information 13:31:47 available to you as we deceiver 13:31:48 and go through it. 13:31:51 Are there any questions 13:31:55 regarding COVID-19 and our 13:32:01 operations? 13:32:08 >> I don't see any chat, hands 13:32:16 or anybody removing their mute 13:32:18 -- I mean taking themselves off 13:32:18 of mute. 13:32:19 Okay. 13:32:21 We can move on to the next thing 13:32:22 and again if you have any 13:32:23 questions or concerns we will 13:32:25 have an opportunity toward the 13:32:29 end of the meeting to address 13:32:32 any of that. 13:32:36 Board membership. 13:32:39 As you can see, our board has 13:32:41 really taken a hit. 13:32:43 Quite a few individuals have 13:32:45 termed off after their second 13:32:54 year and so there just -- so 13:32:54 they were just not able to 13:32:55 continue serving. 13:32:57 We are, right now, we have 13:32:58 submitted four names for 13:32:59 consideration. 13:33:01 It is important that we get 13:33:05 people appointed to the board as 13:33:07 we are in the middle of 13:33:10 developing our SPIL, our state 13:33:12 plan for independent living and 13:33:17 we have to have a board, a 13:33:20 workable board, an approved 13:33:23 board for -- in order to submit 13:33:27 our state plan for independent 13:33:28 living. 13:33:32 We have a gentlemen a gentlemen 13:33:34 online that is being considered 13:33:35 for the board membership, Danny 13:33:41 HOUSELY as well as ours on the 13:33:42 call. 13:33:45 We have submitted -- who 13:33:49 represents the Northwest area 13:33:51 and she will not be on the call 13:33:56 today and a Mr. IVY Heinz in the 13:33:57 Albany area. 13:34:03 So we have some good individuals 13:34:04 who represent and some areas in 13:34:05 our state who are 13:34:06 underrepresented and we are 13:34:15 hoping they will be around and 13:34:18 young our liaison which is 13:34:21 working hard to make sure that 13:34:22 that happens for us and we will 13:34:24 probably get an update from her 13:34:27 a little bit later, but we are 13:34:30 still always looking for board 13:34:32 members. 13:34:35 This has been a long process, 13:34:37 you know, we have been trying to 13:34:39 get people appointed 13:34:44 process with Sheila and with 13:34:46 LACHELLE and we are right back 13:34:47 at it again. 13:34:49 These two individuals are board 13:34:49 members. 13:34:51 We are waiting for board 13:34:53 membership for over -- you have 13:34:54 been eighting for over a year, 13:34:56 year and a half and we are kind 13:34:58 of right back in the same 13:34:59 position. 13:35:02 So that is why we kind of 13:35:04 stagger out our appointments but 13:35:06 we try to have as many people on 13:35:11 the board at different times and 13:35:14 we have never had this problem. 13:35:17 We were trying to get to add 13:35:21 more people appointed before 13:35:23 Kemp took office but that didn't 13:35:27 happen, and with governor Kemp 13:35:31 coming in there's hey transition 13:35:34 moment and -- a transition 13:35:35 moment, and he just hasn't 13:35:38 gotten around to appointments. 13:35:39 They were scheduled to be 13:35:43 approved April. 13:35:47 That was the deadline that GVRA, 13:35:49 the information that they 13:35:52 received from the governor's 13:35:56 office, that they were going to 13:35:59 be making appointments in April 13:36:02 but of course this was before 13:36:03 connection in the state shut 13:36:04 down. 13:36:04 So we are just trying to see how 13:36:06 that is going happen right now 13:36:08 and we will most definitely be 13:36:13 getting in touch with 13:36:15 Mr. HouseLY and Mr. Heinz as 13:36:19 well. 13:36:25 Any questions about board 13:36:26 membership? 13:36:31 I just received a note that it 13:36:35 is Debbie's birthday. 13:36:38 She just termed off so if any of 13:36:39 you are in contact with Debbie, 13:36:43 be sure to reach out to her. 13:36:45 I believe that's Debbie. 13:36:51 Happen -- happy birthday, Debbie 13:36:53 from disABILITY LINK. 13:36:57 Any questions? 13:36:58 Okay. 13:37:00 We will move -- we are going to 13:37:03 be done real quick, people. 13:37:12 Legislative update. 13:37:14 WellA as thing versus termed out 13:37:15 we were cut off right in the 13:37:18 middle of session when the -- 13:37:25 when the state shut down -- I 13:37:27 will tell you COVID has been 13:37:29 doing I lot of damage -- 13:37:31 allotted of damage and has 13:37:35 really put things on the buck 13:37:36 burner. 13:37:39 Right before the session stopped 13:37:43 and the Government shut down, we 13:37:45 have received information that 13:37:47 the house and the senate did 13:37:48 approve for an additional -- not 13:37:52 an additional but for a -- 13:37:55 funding for 200,000. 13:37:59 For a while there, again, we 13:38:06 were asked to cut back 4% in the 13:38:07 department of community a-- and 13:38:08 the department of community 13:38:09 affair hearsay actually 13:38:10 suggested that funding be 13:38:12 reduced to 100,000. 13:38:14 Again, we were thankfully able 13:38:17 to go in and add slow Kate -- go 13:38:20 in and advocate for that money 13:38:21 foreman. 13:38:29 -- for that money to 13:38:30 remain. 13:38:34 But thankfully with the reports 13:38:39 you guys sent to me I was able 13:38:40 to provide some examples of how 13:38:41 home access has really benefited 13:38:45 a lot of people throughout the 13:38:46 state some that money -- right 13:38:47 now I don't want to say yes it 13:38:49 is a done deal but it will not 13:38:53 be reduced and we are, right 13:38:57 now, I guess just waiting for 13:38:58 the governor's approval for 13:39:02 signing off on the budget. 13:39:04 We will hopefully have more 13:39:05 information soon. 13:39:07 I received notice a couple of 13:39:10 days ago that it is being 13:39:14 considered that June 7th will 13:39:16 open session up again. 13:39:24 I don't know what that is going 13:39:27 to look like, but our -- the 13:39:27 legislature may be getting back 13:39:30 June 7. 13:39:32 Again, I am not sure what that's 13:39:33 going to look like. 13:39:36 And if we will be allowed to go 13:39:39 into the capitol and/or start 13:39:46 advocating for additional 13:39:48 things. 13:39:51 Or center for this year's 13:39:53 legislative agenda, we were 13:39:55 really making good Headway with 13:39:59 some good representatives -- of 13:40:02 course representative Dempsey 13:40:06 has always been an advocate and 13:40:08 allie for -- they have been 13:40:12 remaining try to their word in 13:40:15 regards to expanding in 13:40:16 increments. 13:40:19 Of course I always try to go 13:40:21 ahead and get it all at once but 13:40:22 for right now we know that fund 13:40:24 for the existing centers 13:40:28 satellite offices excuse me will 13:40:30 continue and we are hoping to be 13:40:32 able to expand a little bit 13:40:33 more. 13:40:35 We do have another allie, a 13:40:42 senator walker down is it 13:40:44 Dublin, I want to say? 13:40:45 Michael, is that correct? 13:40:49 Is that the area? 13:40:51 >> yes, it is. 13:40:55 It is a little bit West of that 13:40:56 area. 13:40:58 >> Okay. 13:41:01 >> He has really taken an 13:41:03 interest in the things that the 13:41:06 centers do and we are -- we 13:41:08 think that we really have him on 13:41:09 board. 13:41:14 But we will keep you informed, 13:41:17 again, as it gets closer to 13:41:20 June 7th, what the session is 13:41:23 going to look like, if they will 13:41:24 in deed start to go back in on 13:41:28 the 7th and what we might need 13:41:30 to do in order to make some of 13:41:33 these things happen. 13:41:38 It probably be -- probably will 13:41:40 be kind of fast and furious 13:41:42 trying to make things happen 13:41:44 before July 1 when if new state 13:41:46 fiscal year opens up again. 13:41:50 Any questions in regards to the 13:42:01 legislative update? 13:42:04 Okay. 13:42:14 If not, our SPIL review. 13:42:16 We are slightly behind with the 13:42:20 development of our SPIL. 13:42:24 We were hoping to have a draft 13:42:26 available today, unfortunately 13:42:27 that did not happen. 13:42:30 What we are hopefully planning 13:42:32 is May 8th. 13:42:35 We have finished the majority of 13:42:40 it and we just need to fine tune 13:42:42 in so we're going to be 13:42:44 reviewing that within the next 13:42:46 week and then we hopefully will 13:42:49 have that out for review 13:42:51 beginning May 8th. 13:42:57 We will also be having a couple 13:43:00 of zoom meetings for public 13:43:01 comment. 13:43:03 It those be up for public 13:43:05 comment for 30 days. 13:43:07 That will give us, I believe, 13:43:09 until June 6th, if I am not 13:43:10 mistaken. 13:43:13 June 6th or June 7th for 30 13:43:16 days so we will have a minimum 13:43:18 of at least three, possibly 13:43:21 four, zoom meetings for folks to 13:43:24 be able to provide time for 13:43:27 public comment for the state 13:43:30 plan and then we can go back and 13:43:34 make any additions, omissions, 13:43:36 pick into -- take into 13:43:37 consideration some of the public 13:43:39 comments and have it ready to be 13:43:44 submitted to the ACL or the 13:43:45 administration for community 13:43:48 living no later than June 30th 13:43:49 of this year. 13:43:51 It has to be in June 30th of 13:43:52 this year. 13:43:56 I just wanted to extend, again, 13:43:58 my appreciation and gratitude to 13:44:01 the center directors for helping 13:44:06 with the state -- put the sit 13:44:07 state plan together because 13:44:09 without the centers the plan 13:44:12 does not work and so I am glad 13:44:14 that -- to be able to have their 13:44:18 input and -- in the SPIL at this 13:44:19 time. 13:44:24 Again, the SPIL will be from 13:44:28 2021 through 2023, three year 13:44:32 state plan and it will actually 13:44:34 set back this year it was 13:44:37 actually supposed to be the 13:44:40 state plan but the template 13:44:42 wasn't available to ACL actually 13:44:45 just had the center -- excuse 13:44:51 me, the SILC provide an amend 13:44:53 example that's what we did for 13:44:55 state plans to be extended for 13:44:56 an additional year. 13:44:59 So but it will be a three-year 13:45:00 plan. 13:45:02 I will tell you, these three 13:45:04 years come up real quick, so as 13:45:06 soon as we are going to be 13:45:09 getting into this upcoming state 13:45:13 plan it will be time to start 13:45:15 holding meetings again to get 13:45:18 ready for 2024. 13:45:20 These years come around pretty 13:45:22 quick, but again a little bit 13:45:24 behind on the state plan, but we 13:45:26 will have a draft ready for 13:45:30 review and public comment 13:45:33 May 8th and hopefully by this 13:45:35 particular time we will also 13:45:39 have information on our board. 13:45:42 Again, in hopes of being able to 13:45:45 submit a completed SPIL 13:45:50 approximate have a functioning 13:45:52 board. 13:45:52 Are there any questions in 13:45:53 regards to the state plan for 13:45:59 independent living? 13:46:04 I see nothing in the chat or 13:46:06 hands. 13:46:07 Okay. 13:46:12 Next item. 13:46:14 And Ms. Harriet, if you have any 13:46:19 updates Mr. GVRA we would like 13:46:21 to hit -- from GVRA we would 13:46:23 like to hear them at this time. 13:46:24 >> At the moment, Shelly and 13:46:27 everyone, we do not, 13:46:28 unfortunately have any updates. 13:46:30 Unfortunately, the word that we 13:46:32 are getting pushed back on all 13:46:35 of our boards and council, 13:46:37 everything is still pending over 13:46:40 at the governor's office. 13:46:41 I know that's not everyone wants 13:46:43 to hear but that is the -- the 13:46:44 truth and that is -- we are 13:46:46 getting that back on all of the 13:46:48 boards we have. 13:46:51 Everyone's papererwork still 13:46:53 holding -- paper work is still 13:46:54 holding at the governor's office 13:46:56 but I have made, you know, in 13:46:58 place to know that there is a 13:47:00 high priority, a high priority 13:47:02 for the SILC. 13:47:05 Again, due to the SPIL, it has 13:47:07 to be a full board in place 13:47:09 before that June 30th 13:47:09 commission date. 13:47:11 So I have brought that to their 13:47:12 attention. 13:47:13 It has been brought to their 13:47:15 attention, so no worries there, 13:47:15 it has been brought to their 13:47:16 attention. 13:47:18 >> Great. 13:47:18 I appreciate that. 13:47:20 Now, tell me this, Harriet, what 13:47:25 is the governor opening up -- 13:47:26 with the governor opening up the 13:47:28 state again in a limited 13:47:31 capacity, what about some of the 13:47:33 VRA e offices? 13:47:33 What's going to happen with some 13:47:34 of that? 13:47:37 >> To be honest they have not 13:47:41 released anything officially 13:47:43 even to staff. 13:47:44 The only thing that I have been 13:47:46 pretty much stated that asover 13:47:49 right now, today, that we are 13:47:52 just still pretty much 13:47:53 functioning tell working through 13:47:56 staff that we can tell work as 13:48:03 far as clients, the counselors 13:48:05 plan has been to, you know, 13:48:08 interview, stay in contact with 13:48:10 their clients via phone. 13:48:12 Everything is being done pretty 13:48:14 much via phone and e-mail as 13:48:16 they ask for clients who do 13:48:18 have, you know, internet 13:48:20 capability and skills but that's 13:48:22 one of the thing, you know, for 13:48:24 the clients that work with the 13:48:27 council to go back to doing old 13:48:31 fashioned VR work getting on the 13:48:32 phone, talking with clients to 13:48:34 make sure they're doing okay and 13:48:36 anything they can do beyond face 13:48:39 to face but as -- as of right 13:48:43 now, the doors are still closed 13:48:44 to the office. 13:48:47 There is deep cleaning going on 13:48:49 so everyone is working tell 13:48:52 working or zoom meeting or 13:48:53 Microsoft meetings. 13:48:54 >> Okay. 13:48:58 Actually, thank you, Harriet. 13:50:02 >> You're welcome. 13:50:04 >> You can send that question to 13:50:08 me after this meeting is over. 13:50:09 >> Okay. 13:50:10 Thank you. 13:50:12 >> Any other -- any other 13:50:21 questions for Harriet, GVRA? 13:50:23 >> Thank you so much for calling 13:50:28 in and thank you for working on 13:50:28 this for us. 13:50:31 >> You're welcome, Ms. Shelly. 13:50:33 I'm here to support. 13:50:34 Thank you guy for all that you 13:50:35 do. 13:50:37 You guys are the ones out there, 13:50:39 so thank you, guys. 13:50:43 >> Thank you, Harriet. 13:50:57 >> Next item OMG. 13:50:59 Please forgive me. 13:51:00 We do not have a training on 13:51:02 today, just had a couple of 13:51:04 things that people never got 13:51:05 back with me. 13:51:07 I had a couple of trainings that 13:51:09 I wanted to present and 13:51:13 unfortunately, kind of 13:51:14 understandable things just kind 13:51:20 of happened for us today and I 13:51:23 know this is kind of 13:51:24 advertisicly even for a Friday, 13:51:29 for us, most of us have our 13:51:33 conferences on a Thursday 13:51:35 afternoon but we decided to keep 13:51:37 it Friday because this was 13:51:43 already set up on our schedules 13:51:45 and our calendars, again because 13:51:46 we were supposed to be face to 13:51:46 face. 13:51:49 So we just kept it at this 13:51:53 particular time. 13:51:55 But let's go to our brag N steal 13:51:57 with our board members. 13:51:59 Let's see, did we have any other 13:52:00 board member call in? 13:52:04 Did Matthew or Sam or YAZ? 13:52:11 Are you on the line? 13:52:12 >> Okay. 13:52:15 So before we move out, people 13:52:18 who are not -- we are not able 13:52:20 to conduct any business today 13:52:21 because we do not have a full 13:52:22 functioning board. 13:52:23 We only have two board members 13:52:26 who are actually on the call. 13:52:30 So we will have to come back 13:52:36 during our summer meeting which 13:52:39 again will also be a conference 13:52:45 and approve the spring agenda 13:52:46 and minutes. 13:52:51 So with that being said, if you 13:52:54 have any -- anything or if you 13:52:56 have anything that you would 13:53:00 like to say, ROCHELLE and 13:53:01 Sheila, this is your time. 13:53:03 >> I hope everyone is doing 13:53:04 okay. 13:53:06 I just wanted to say thank you 13:53:09 for all you all do and the event 13:53:12 that we had for the viewing of 13:53:15 the -- is absolutely amazing. 13:53:16 I am excited that when we can 13:53:19 all get back together eventually 13:53:25 that we can just do some -- not 13:53:26 only the film but the expansion 13:53:27 of everything that's going on 13:53:29 with that but with Kelly 13:53:30 involved and just everything 13:53:32 that was put together by the -- 13:53:35 by the team there at SILC it was 13:53:36 just -- that was just a very 13:53:39 great event that night and it 13:53:40 meant so much to so many people 13:53:42 and I appreciate yaw all doing 13:53:44 that and what you all do on a 13:53:45 daily basis. 13:53:47 >> Yes, thank you. 13:53:51 And ROCHELLE, some of you may 13:53:55 not be aavailable kind of -- or 13:53:59 know she's talking about our ADA 13:53:59 30 celebration. 13:54:06 We had a very nice event on 13:54:07 February 20 at the national 13:54:10 center for civil and human 13:54:10 rights. 13:54:12 We had been working on a 13:54:13 documentary. 13:54:15 We are calling it a screening 13:54:18 because it was not complete as 13:54:18 of yet. 13:54:20 Speaking about the history of 13:54:22 the Americans with Disabilities 13:54:23 Act. 13:54:25 I think we will probably -- we 13:54:26 were probably one of the first 13:54:35 to really jump on this year's 13:54:36 celebration. 13:54:38 The date is actually not until 13:54:41 July 26 or 29 but July is the 13:54:48 official 30 year anniversary. 13:54:50 But we -- we did not share the 13:54:52 video with everyone as of yet 13:54:55 because we are still trying to 13:54:58 generate excitement about it. 13:55:06 We have applied for a grant in 13:55:08 hopes of being able to finish 13:55:11 the document but but it is 13:55:15 really awesome. 13:55:18 >> We are working on it. 13:55:20 >> And we are working in hopes 13:55:22 of getting some funding to 13:55:24 finish it and this is one thing 13:55:26 we're hoping to be able to 13:55:30 present at NICL as well. 13:55:38 I presented it at the SILC 13:55:40 conference late February -- no, 13:55:45 yes, late February and -- monk 13:55:46 our peers and everyone was 13:55:48 really excited about it. 13:55:50 We received I lot of great, 13:55:51 great feedback. 13:55:54 So I do believe I did share with 13:55:56 our directors but if I could 13:55:59 just ask everybody to be patient 13:56:01 with they think that you will 13:56:04 truly be impressed with what we 13:56:06 have been able to accomplish 13:56:07 with that. 13:56:10 And it can be a great teaching 13:56:11 tool as well. 13:56:15 A lot of the people at SILC 13:56:16 Congress actually would like to 13:56:18 have it to be able to present to 13:56:23 their board at a training. 13:56:26 , a history background and what 13:56:29 the documentary talked about as 13:56:32 the past, present, and also we 13:56:34 are going to get into the future 13:56:37 and that's what we need 20 do. 13:56:41 So we have part one and two and 13:56:42 we are working on part 2. 13:56:43 Thank you. 13:56:46 ROCHELLE was actually our MC for 13:56:49 the evening and did a wonderful 13:56:50 job for us. 13:56:56 We appreciate it. 13:56:57 >> Sheila, did you have a 13:57:00 statement you want to say or 13:57:00 add? 13:57:01 >> No. 13:57:03 I just -- because the question 13:57:04 would be to the board members 13:57:07 which are not here, I just 13:57:08 wanted to know if they got the 13:57:13 e-mail for my request to serve 13:57:15 in the position as chair and 13:57:17 that would be all. 13:57:18 I would be delighted today do 13:57:22 that, anything to be -- delight 13:57:23 today do that, anything to 13:57:25 ensure the success. 13:57:27 I am just glad to be here. 13:57:29 >> Yes, I saw that e-mail and 13:57:36 thank you so much for taking the 13:57:37 initiative and extending your 13:57:39 services for us. 13:57:42 We do -- we are in need of an 13:57:44 executive committee for our 13:57:48 board as well. 13:57:54 Phil chase is serving as the 13:58:01 interim chair at our last board 13:58:01 meeting and was his last day. 13:58:02 YAZ is our Treasurer, Debbie is 13:58:05 our secretary. 13:58:07 She has also served off so we 13:58:09 again are -- thank you for 13:58:11 taking that initiative. 13:58:13 What we will have to do, we will 13:58:18 have to set up I guess a board 13:58:20 meeting just with the board 13:58:21 members to make some 13:58:24 appointments, but yes, we 13:58:26 definitely need to make that 13:58:29 happen as soon as possible. 13:58:30 Thank you Ms. Sheila. 13:58:31 I appreciate it. 13:58:34 >> You're welcome. 13:58:37 >> Any questions for the board 13:58:45 members that are on the call? 13:58:46 If not we're going move on to 13:58:51 our center directors. 13:58:53 Let's start off, I guess, at the 13:58:56 top. 13:59:02 That would be A to I. 13:59:03 Kirk. 13:59:06 >> Do you have anything you 13:59:07 would like to share with us. 13:59:08 >> Good afternoon, everybody. 13:59:12 I just wanted to really, really 13:59:14 just shout out to all of my 13:59:22 employees who have really 13:59:25 stepped up during this COVID-19 13:59:27 and are flexible to work from 13:59:28 hope home exam keeping the shop 13:59:30 running as normal as possible. 13:59:33 I know I talked about it on the 13:59:34 last meeting but I wanted to go 13:59:36 ahead and let everyone know that 13:59:38 I was able to get a signed 13:59:42 contract for my city which 13:59:42 allowed me to double my home 13:59:47 modification budget to 13:59:51 160,000-dollars. 13:59:53 >>> Good for you. 13:59:55 Always good to leverage money. 13:59:57 >> It is. 14:00:00 And hopefully we will be able to 14:00:01 continue to do so. 14:00:01 >> Absolutely. 14:00:05 Thank you. 14:00:09 >> BAINBRIDGE. 14:00:14 That's Melissa. 14:00:24 >> I did see you earlier. 14:00:27 >> I see your picture. 14:00:28 Are you on mute? 14:06:26 No, I think you areNancy -- Nancy may still be 14:06:26 on. 14:06:28 Are you on? 14:06:35 I I am looking for you. 14:06:36 >> Kim. 14:06:37 >> Okay. 14:06:38 >> DisABILITY LINK. 14:06:38 >> Okay. 14:06:40 So this is Kim with disABILITY 14:06:44 LINK. 14:06:46 Oh, actually, sorry because I 14:06:48 hit that. 14:06:51 The first thing is that for us 14:06:53 we are working on cleaning our 14:06:57 offices and making sure it is a 14:06:58 safe environment first for our 14:07:00 staff doing some different 14:07:04 changes with that so we are 14:07:08 anticipating opening probably -- 14:07:10 probably July 1st to consumers 14:07:13 and staff coming back 14:07:13 June 22nd. 14:07:16 We're doing a little bit of a -- 14:07:20 we are doing a plan on -- on 14:07:22 different things such as 14:07:26 rotating some tell working -- I 14:07:28 can't say that word, where 14:07:30 there's not so many people on 14:07:32 the -- in the office at one time 14:07:33 as far as staff goes. 14:07:38 And then resuming and looking at 14:07:39 the different stuff. 14:07:41 So for our brag and steal thing, 14:07:45 No. 1 I have -- I do have to 14:07:45 brag a little bit because we 14:07:47 have the policies that we have 14:07:49 in place, so although, you know, 14:07:51 we still have to ADAPT to a lot 14:07:54 of things we were actually 14:07:55 listed on some things that we 14:07:59 were doing with IRLU and as a 14:08:01 best practice. 14:08:04 >> What is ILRU. 14:08:08 >> Independent living real 14:08:11 utilization, so they sent out 14:08:12 using what we did as a best 14:08:13 practice. 14:08:16 I can tell you that Tiffany and 14:08:19 I have worked hand in hand on 14:08:20 looking at different things 14:08:21 making sure approximate working 14:08:24 together on different things so 14:08:25 it is really nice that our 14:08:28 network, centers for independent 14:08:30 living work together so even 14:08:32 some of my stuff I can't take a 14:08:33 hundred% credit for different 14:08:35 things like we created the 14:08:44 funding application here and 14:08:45 Tiffany sent quite a -- sent 14:08:47 back her revisions so I used 14:08:49 some of her revisions on that. 14:08:53 So one thing that I do want to 14:08:56 highlight we haven increased 14:08:58 amount of people that -- people 14:09:02 with disabilities that are 14:09:03 looking for limit. 14:09:05 We are still able to do that. 14:09:07 It is unfortunate the counselor 14:09:13 we are worked with GVRA are have 14:09:14 not allowed the individuals to 14:09:16 go through the internship 14:09:17 program but we are trying to 14:09:19 find other funding so that the 14:09:21 individuals get paid because our 14:09:24 programs are paid internships 14:09:25 however we've had to not pay the 14:09:29 people which is, you know, I am 14:09:31 -- I don't know what else we can 14:09:32 do to prove to individuals -- to 14:09:35 them that it is you know, we're 14:09:36 very, you know, people with 14:09:39 disability is as are hard enough 14:09:41 to place but especially during 14:09:51 this time so we have -- we are 14:09:55 still waiting on that. 14:09:55 We submitted our proposal on 14:09:55 March 30th and we are still 14:09:56 waiting for that to come back to 14:09:57 see where we are at with that 14:09:59 but we are still continuing on. 14:10:01 We were actually able to start 14:10:02 to transitional -- two 14:10:05 transitional groups during the 14:10:07 -- we kicked it off right away 14:10:11 as soon as we closed we opened 14:10:12 up two classes to reach out the 14:10:14 students exam we're getting 14:10:17 participation. 14:10:18 The early morning class 14:10:20 sometimes they like to sleep in 14:10:22 a little bit late so sometime it 14:10:23 is attendance is lower than 14:10:26 others but we've had upwards to 14:10:29 50 participants each day Monday 14:10:31 through Friday and I do want to 14:10:33 -- Monday through Thursday and I 14:10:34 do want to read something 14:10:37 because it is a big brag N steal 14:10:38 so I will just read you some of 14:10:39 the highlights. 14:10:41 I won't read the whole thing. 14:10:48 But it say the em youered IU 14:10:50 virtual classes is -- in our 14:10:51 wrap around program. 14:10:55 We really enJoy joining the 14:10:56 classes Monday through Thursday 14:10:57 as each day it gets better and 14:10:58 better. 14:11:02 I know that because one of my 14:11:05 youth that Isted with getting -- 14:11:07 that I assisted with she is now 14:11:09 getting on. 14:11:11 My new youth sin viting others. 14:11:13 I am so glad you are extending 14:11:16 there you the month of May. 14:11:18 It says at the end thank for 14:11:19 oughly guys do at disABILITY 14:11:21 LINK. 14:11:23 This is needed for our youth in 14:11:24 this time and day, and it did 14:11:26 talk about engaging the youth 14:11:28 and encouraging them to think 14:11:32 outside of the box and just the 14:11:35 that it give it is youth 14:11:36 something to look forward to and 14:11:39 then we had another -- I have 14:11:41 just been getting a lot of 14:11:43 people parents and stuff, 14:11:44 teachers that have reached out 14:11:47 to us and so this person said my 14:11:49 son, blank blank has been 14:11:51 participating in the virtual 14:11:54 meeting for the youth. 14:11:57 I am so delighted with these 14:11:58 virtual meetings. 14:12:01 My son who is ordinarily a very 14:12:02 reclusive and struggles with 14:12:04 communication comes out of his 14:12:06 shell during these meetings. 14:12:09 I would not have thought this 14:12:10 format of communication having a 14:12:12 computer separating had imfrom 14:12:13 the other participants would 14:12:16 have engaged him put he's 14:12:16 totally engaged. 14:12:19 He looks forward to the meetings 14:12:21 with no nudging from me. 14:12:25 I al-Zawahiri said that Derek is 14:12:27 great at -- that take place 14:12:33 during these meetings. 14:12:35 These have opened up new 14:12:35 opportunity for positive social 14:12:37 engagement with his peers and 14:12:41 contributed to a social economic 14:12:42 and emotional growth. 14:12:46 You have my sincerest and heart 14:12:46 felt gratitude. 14:12:48 I hope that disABILITY LINK will 14:12:50 continue to offer this caliber 14:12:53 of opportunities for young 14:12:54 adultings in future. 14:12:56 I wanted to sure that because -- 14:12:59 adult -- adults in the future. 14:13:01 It is no easy task but it is 14:13:02 something we have been able to 14:13:05 do and we have had -- have been 14:13:06 doing it but not in this caliber 14:13:08 and we're getting ready to kick 14:13:10 off the summer program and we 14:13:11 are working with several of the 14:13:15 counselors from the schools to 14:13:17 do the program but of course 14:13:19 we're waiting to see if we get a 14:13:21 contract to allow for that but 14:13:24 it has really reached out and 14:13:26 really engage that had student e 14:13:26 students. 14:13:28 That's my brag N steal. 14:13:30 >> Congratulations. 14:13:30 Comment work. 14:13:31 Thank you. 14:13:34 It is always -- excellent work. 14:13:34 Thank you. 14:13:36 It is always great to here that. 14:13:38 Again, I think that we are if 14:13:43 best kept secret and 14:13:49 unfortunately too many don't 14:13:52 know about all the good work 14:13:53 that the center Doss and 14:13:54 especially now working with you 14:13:57 and transition centers do and 14:14:00 enly working -- it is more 14:14:02 important to hear that. 14:14:03 I think it is excellent, 14:14:03 excellent. 14:14:06 >> Another aspect is also we 14:14:08 haven't stopped transitioning 14:14:10 people within the nursing home. 14:14:13 Last year we helped two people 14:14:15 escape from them and we're still 14:14:17 working with 15 other people. 14:14:18 We're look at housing as a 14:14:19 barrier. 14:14:23 We are waiting on nurses to do 14:14:26 their part so we can -- they can 14:14:28 leave, but it is not because of 14:14:30 us we're holding up. 14:14:31 It is because of that so we have 14:14:33 been able to do that, plus we 14:14:36 have also added one other peer 14:14:38 support group, the COVID-19 14:14:41 which has engaged people not 14:14:43 only in Georgia but other people 14:14:46 with disabilities that the 14:14:53 different things and one of the 14:14:54 partis -- participants that has 14:14:54 really said it has helped them 14:14:57 emotionally to talk about some 14:15:00 of the issues they have been 14:15:01 having. 14:15:03 having. 14:15:06 >> That's a lot to go on about. 14:15:07 I appreciate it. 14:15:07 Thank you. 14:15:08 >> Okay. 14:15:11 Thank you. 14:15:13 >> Nancy text me and told me 14:15:17 she's just having trouble, 14:15:19 again, she has been having 14:15:21 trouble with her mute. 14:15:23 And so she hasn't been able to 14:15:29 really engage, but she is on the 14:15:29 call. 14:15:32 She's on the line, I guess, and 14:15:36 she just wanted to say that she 14:15:37 has been keeping in touch with 14:15:39 me and letting me know that she 14:15:42 has been doing a lot of food 14:15:48 delivery for people in her area 14:15:51 who aren't able to get out and 14:15:54 about and do some of their daily 14:15:56 activities such as grocery 14:15:57 shopping and things like that. 14:16:02 So Nancy and her good heart has 14:16:06 basically been getting food to 14:16:08 some of her consumer, doing some 14:16:11 of their shopping and delivery. 14:16:13 So kudos to Nancy as she 14:16:17 definitely is providing an 14:16:19 essential job and an essential 14:16:20 need. 14:16:22 And gentlemen with us want her 14:16:25 to be safe in doing so but 14:16:27 again, we thank you for your 14:16:30 participation on the zoom 14:16:35 meeting. 14:16:37 >> 14:16:38 >> Who's next? 14:16:40 Northwest. 14:16:41 Cathy. 14:16:43 >> Hi. 14:16:45 I am here from Northwest and 14:16:48 well, we have been doing very 14:16:54 well, and Maya is not -- of when 14:16:55 we are going to open the actual 14:16:57 office, we can get back to you 14:16:59 guys later on that. 14:17:00 What we have been doing is we 14:17:02 started a -- well, we never know 14:17:04 how these are going to evolve 14:17:08 but we started a peer zoom call 14:17:10 weekly and what is happening 14:17:13 with that is we have, you know, 14:17:15 of course our consumer, former 14:17:17 consumes and we then we had 14:17:18 agencies. 14:17:21 We can Katie Dempsey join our 14:17:23 call and you know we had some -- 14:17:26 we have had several people that 14:17:27 has reached out. 14:17:30 They want to hear the needs of 14:17:32 people with disabilities and 14:17:33 what's happening when we have 14:17:34 the people with disabilities on 14:17:36 the call and the resources are 14:17:39 just kind of -- are just kind of 14:17:42 there so they are able to -- our 14:17:44 Rome transit partner was there. 14:17:46 They gave an update on how the 14:17:48 buses so it has evolved into 14:17:50 something I wasn't expecting but 14:17:51 it has been really great. 14:17:53 So we are keeping those up. 14:17:55 They're on Monday at 14:17:56 2:00 o'clock so those are 14:17:57 happening and we are in the 14:18:00 process of setting up a focus 14:18:01 group for next Thursday and 14:18:03 we're getting our captioner and 14:18:03 everything ready. 14:18:07 We want to reach out to -- we 14:18:09 have large community -- we have 14:18:10 the George school for the deaf 14:18:14 and the reare -- gentleman 14:18:18 reGeorgia school for the 14:18:19 deaf and we want to reach out to 14:18:21 them and make sure things are, 14:18:23 you know, what they need. 14:18:25 We really want to hear the needs 14:18:26 of the community and just kind 14:18:27 of come together with us next 14:18:30 Thursday and we will do that at 14:18:33 11:00 at a focus group and speak 14:18:34 with everybody. 14:18:38 So we're setting that up now. 14:18:40 We are also we have a huge 14:18:41 resource page that we have set 14:18:43 up on our web site and of course 14:18:47 our social media and one thing 14:18:48 we are looking at and we're 14:18:52 doing some research and KATHY is 14:18:52 helping with this. 14:18:55 We are looking at the -- that we 14:18:58 come across some and they're on 14:19:00 board order, but they're masks 14:19:02 where people with can read, you 14:19:06 know, still be able to read lips 14:19:08 and see facial expressions and 14:19:10 we kind of -- we done some 14:19:12 pricing and we're trying to see 14:19:14 what that would look like for us 14:19:16 to get some of those. 14:19:17 So that's just some of the 14:19:18 things with have been doing but 14:19:21 we're, you know, we're going to 14:19:23 do -- and we're doing fairly 14:19:23 well. 14:19:26 So yeah, that's our brag N 14:19:27 steal. 14:19:27 >> Thank you. 14:19:33 Now, again, there are face masks 14:19:34 that will allow you are you 14:19:37 talking about the shields or 14:19:38 actual face masks that will 14:19:39 allow you to see? 14:19:41 >> They will -- I mean we are 14:19:43 looking at images but they look 14:19:45 -- they appear to be face masks 14:19:47 that they're not shields because 14:19:49 that -- the eyes, you know, it 14:19:51 looks like they go around your 14:19:52 mouth and nose like a normal 14:19:55 face bask but it has a clear 14:19:58 front and Cathy has been pricing 14:19:59 those. 14:20:00 We found a couple of web sites 14:20:08 for them and of course they're 14:20:09 out. 14:20:09 But that is something we are -- 14:20:10 we are hoping to check into that 14:20:10 and if it works out we're hoping 14:20:11 to get some of those. 14:20:11 >> Okay. 14:20:12 Interesting. 14:20:13 >> This is Michael. 14:20:15 I sent some links to the center 14:20:19 directors which included some of 14:20:20 those masks, and I found some 14:20:23 that had really wide open 14:20:23 spaces. 14:20:25 You may have found those two but 14:20:28 I found about three or four of 14:20:29 them. 14:20:31 Of course all of them are on 14:20:32 back order. 14:20:33 >> I'm sure. 14:20:35 Thank you, Michael. 14:20:36 >> Thank you, Christina. 14:20:37 Appreciate it. 14:20:42 >> Thank you. 14:20:48 >> Life? 14:20:51 >>> I'm here. 14:20:55 Can you hear snow? 14:20:55 >> Yes. 14:20:58 >> I am kind of echoing what 14:20:59 Kirk said. 14:21:01 My coworkers have done really an 14:21:02 impressive job. 14:21:04 This is an insane amount of flex 14:21:07 that's required of us so still 14:21:09 find ways to do our job in an 14:21:10 environment that we are not 14:21:11 comfortable and a lot of times 14:21:13 without the supports that many 14:21:14 of us rely on. 14:21:17 We've had to substitute as 14:21:18 quickly as we can with respect 14:21:19 to technology and with respect 14:21:21 to just communicating with one 14:21:27 another and it is real real time 14:21:30 as we can so we can group source 14:21:31 or crowd source solutions so we 14:21:33 can make sure we are delivering 14:21:34 services to best of our ability. 14:21:35 A lot of the people we are 14:21:37 working with have kind of 14:21:41 reseeded to the backgrounds as 14:21:42 they were more concerned with 14:21:44 other things and then they're 14:21:46 bubbling up and we have kind of 14:21:47 emergency situations hitting 14:21:49 with respect to food delivery 14:21:50 and stuff like that. 14:21:52 My coworker angel has been 14:21:54 working really hard to put 14:21:56 together a volunteer program to 14:21:58 deliver food to people and she 14:22:00 is also worked hard on the 14:22:07 campaign to try to get food 14:22:09 stamps to get the program to get 14:22:11 food stamps or the standards 14:22:14 where they can allow delivery to 14:22:16 be paid for using your food 14:22:18 stamps because that's important 14:22:18 for people. 14:22:23 The other things we got some TV 14:22:25 coverage conducted a couple of 14:22:29 zoom calls with us and a story 14:22:32 ran in the news in Savannah 14:22:33 probably, I don't know a couple 14:22:35 of weeks ago about how we were 14:22:36 remaining open. 14:22:38 It was a good opportunity to 14:22:39 advertise to the community that 14:22:42 we are still working and also 14:22:44 give them protocols and alert 14:22:48 them to the fact that the need 14:22:50 that existed in the community 14:22:52 prior too the crisis still 14:22:52 exists. 14:22:55 Just because there's a pandemic 14:22:58 ic everything is not pandemic 14:22:59 sen trick. 14:23:00 There's still needs in regards 14:23:03 to all of these other needs 14:23:05 predated COVID are still on the 14:23:06 community and we are working to 14:23:07 address those. 14:23:09 And then the last thing, my 14:23:14 coworker, Chasity has been 14:23:15 conducting our student for life 14:23:17 which is our youth transition 14:23:18 program remotely. 14:23:21 She has been putting on classes. 14:23:24 She actually had two today bran 14:23:26 rating with the -- collaborating 14:23:29 with the project search which I 14:23:30 don't know if you guys are 14:23:31 familiar with it. 14:23:33 It is an internship program for 14:23:34 high school aged students where 14:23:36 there's a work component as well 14:23:38 as a school component to it. 14:23:39 And she is collaborating and 14:23:41 still teaching our students for 14:23:43 life classes for those people 14:23:45 even as the students are stuck 14:23:46 at home. 14:23:49 So a lot of good things going on 14:23:53 and I give credit to people who 14:23:55 I work with who are able to 14:23:57 soldier on through this and I 14:23:59 wanted to extend a thank you to 14:24:01 everybody most especially 14:24:08 Tiffany and Kim for sharing 14:24:10 policys and procedures for those 14:24:13 who have done an excellent job 14:24:15 keeping me in loop in how 14:24:17 they're handling things. 14:24:19 Kirk helped with respect to 14:24:21 identifying ramps and 14:24:22 communication with Michael and I 14:24:24 have been in communication with 14:24:26 just about everybody. 14:24:27 I don't want to leave anybody 14:24:29 out but they have been very 14:24:29 supportive: 14:24:32 as far as reopening goes, I am 14:24:35 waiting until I get 14:24:37 scientifically backed 14:24:39 information to preliminary stay 14:24:40 set a date. 14:24:41 I think right now everybody is 14:24:42 guessing. 14:24:45 I am siding toward Kirk's theory 14:24:47 on thing which is is let 14:24:49 everything open up fully on 14:24:51 May 13, for the cases to start 14:24:52 showing up but we are seeing 14:24:54 cases even now. 14:24:56 We're continuing to take up -- I 14:25:00 know I checked the Georgia -- 14:25:03 Georgia department of health 14:25:05 page everyday and it just does 14:25:07 not feel safe as members of the 14:25:15 community that bare the brunt of 14:25:16 the efforts to reopen I think 14:25:16 that weaned to be conservative 14:25:17 and we intend to do that. 14:25:18 I am going be seeking input from 14:25:24 coworkers to make sure they feel 14:25:25 safe. 14:25:27 But the earliest will be the 14:25:28 middle toward the end of June 14:25:30 that we will reopen. 14:25:36 So that's what I have got. 14:25:50 >> Shelly, you are muted. 14:25:53 >> Oh, sorry. 14:25:56 Again, thank you so much, NEIL. 14:25:57 I appreciate it. 14:26:02 >> Every time I go out I brag 14:26:09 about our directors, both at 14:26:09 SILC Congress. 14:26:12 I was hearing how a lot of 14:26:13 wentcertain didn't get along, 14:26:15 they don't communicate so I am 14:26:17 just really appreciative of all 14:26:20 of you working together to make 14:26:28 things better and just the 14:26:30 relationsship where you can, you 14:26:33 know, see each other's opinions 14:26:36 and suggestions and there's not 14:26:37 competition. 14:26:40 And so I think that's awesome 14:26:42 and it is a lot to be said about 14:26:45 individuals who run our centers 14:26:48 for independent living. 14:26:50 So again I am thankful for all 14:26:53 of our director who is do such 14:26:55 awesome work, awesome work. 14:27:02 But we will move on and are we 14:27:04 at Multiple Choices? 14:27:06 Robin. 14:27:07 Okay. 14:27:10 Good afternoon, all. 14:27:13 We plan on opening, staff coming 14:27:17 in, hopefully depending on how 14:27:19 everything goes, around 14:27:20 June 1st and see how we are 14:27:21 going to schedule ourselfs and 14:27:23 then we will follow with 14:27:25 consumers coming in. 14:27:28 We have been discovered by 14:27:30 churches since all of this has 14:27:32 happen because churches did not 14:27:34 know how to do the conference 14:27:35 calls and whatnot. 14:27:37 Someone said you know those 14:27:39 blind ladies over there, they 14:27:40 know how to do that kind of 14:27:41 stuff. 14:27:42 So they are learning the hard 14:27:44 way that yes we know how to do 14:27:46 things and we can help get 14:27:47 things done. 14:27:49 We have been talking with the -- 14:27:53 the youth have been meeting -- 14:27:55 sky, the kids are using -- the 14:28:01 young people are using sky and 14:28:03 we are -- we even did 14:28:05 independent living skills. 14:28:09 I got to teach a young lady 14:28:15 using the Facebook portal how to 14:28:22 make unleavened bred so she 14:28:26 would not miss communion. 14:28:27 So there are Multiple Choices 14:28:31 which we are not mad at. 14:28:34 Myself, especially my younger 14:28:36 self are dying to come back to 14:28:38 building as much as I like being 14:28:40 in here by myself. 14:28:43 They don't need to come in here. 14:28:46 But we are getting discovered. 14:28:49 That's our silver lining in all 14:28:50 of this. 14:28:52 That's a good thing. 14:28:57 >> People -- for resources, and 14:28:58 probably all of you have been 14:29:02 getting calls that you probably 14:29:03 have they ever gotten before, so 14:29:05 again that's a good thing and 14:29:07 the more people know the better 14:29:11 off we will be and more work for 14:29:14 you guys. 14:29:16 >> Tiffany. 14:29:22 Walton options. 14:29:27 >> Oh. 14:29:28 >> There we go. 14:29:30 >> Okay. 14:29:32 >> So as everyone else has 14:29:35 reflected on, the changes are 14:29:37 especially in our case we had 14:29:40 two states and 30 plus staff. 14:29:44 It was a lot of kind of roll out 14:29:45 really quickly. 14:29:46 We started with a plan when we 14:29:50 saw things coming into play late 14:29:51 February with how to, you know 14:29:52 kind of progress toward things 14:29:56 but then -- started escalating 14:29:57 pretty fast. 14:29:58 Everyday that I've had target 14:30:01 dates it seemed like we were 14:30:02 moving forward so we are looking 14:30:05 at a soft reopening around 14:30:07 June 1st, not for public but 14:30:10 for beginning to bring in more 14:30:11 of the staff. 14:30:13 We, during this time, had some 14:30:20 of the staff program programs 14:30:26 for critical functions such as 14:30:28 mail and check writing or 14:30:31 payment, collecting bills, et 14:30:31 cetera. 14:30:32 Right when all of this started 14:30:35 we had kind of a mad rush of 14:30:44 calls for equipment so we set 14:30:46 aside the policy because 14:30:47 governor had already talked 14:30:49 about the restrictions so we 14:30:50 basically set that out. 14:30:52 We set a time that folks would 14:30:54 come to pick it up and I said 14:30:56 that it would be like curb side 14:30:58 pick up, you know, to make sure 14:31:00 they got there when they said 14:31:02 they were going to get there so 14:31:05 someone else did not get that. 14:31:08 As far as other things we have 14:31:11 the nursing home transition 14:31:11 during this time. 14:31:13 We have been able to transition 14:31:25 three folks. 14:31:25 Considering the nursing home 14:31:25 numbers that are conscious we 14:31:26 have 99 cases in one of the 14:31:26 homes in Augusta, for those of 14:31:32 you who don't know, if I can say 14:31:35 it without crying we lost one of 14:31:37 our own who was in that nursing 14:31:40 home doing rehab, so Gina 14:31:41 Jackson, who had been with us 14:31:43 for 18 years was in the nursing 14:31:45 home that had the widespread 14:31:49 case of COVID-19 which just 14:31:51 pushes me further to say as part 14:31:53 of our COVID dollars, the 14:31:57 dollars we're receiving from 14:32:04 ACL, we plan to really position 14:32:06 that the purpose is going to be 14:32:07 to get to the nursing homes and 14:32:09 have direct conversations with 14:32:10 just about every possible person 14:32:14 we can in our area to discuss 14:32:15 stay at home options and other 14:32:17 services that would be community 14:32:20 based as opposed to continuing 14:32:24 or feeling that nursing home is 14:32:31 the only choice that they have. 14:32:33 We also, kind of a humbling 14:32:35 thing that happened for us is we 14:32:39 were identified in the ACL 14:32:41 annual report so that was an 14:32:44 uplifting point to see a number 14:32:45 of work for equipment 14:32:48 distribution and home 14:32:51 modifications at the assisted 14:32:52 nursing home transitions. 14:32:54 And that's pretty much where we 14:32:56 are right now. 14:33:03 >> Thank you so much, Tiffany. 14:33:06 Again, I'm so sorry for 14:33:06 Ms. Jackson. 14:33:09 Any of you who may have called 14:33:13 down to Walton options she was 14:33:18 generally the -- the very 14:33:20 defining voice that you would 14:33:21 hear. 14:33:23 When ever I would visit, always 14:33:26 made me feel very comfortable, 14:33:31 very inviting, and that's 14:33:35 unfortunate for anyone to have 14:33:36 those but especially when it is 14:33:40 a part of our own community. 14:33:43 We hate to hear this, so again 14:33:46 our hearts go out to you. 14:33:48 I see Melissa. 14:33:53 We have Melissa back on. 14:33:54 Brag N steal, do you have 14:33:56 anything you would like to tell 14:33:59 us and give us an update on when 14:34:02 you may be possibly opening up. 14:34:03 >> Okay. 14:34:04 At this time? 14:34:04 >> Yes. 14:34:06 >> I changed to my lap top. 14:34:09 >> Okay. 14:34:12 >> BAIN really doesn't have too 14:34:16 much to brag N steal but it was 14:34:19 a hard thing to go get lap tops 14:34:21 and things at the last moment 14:34:22 like that. 14:34:25 I had to -- I was discouraged 14:34:29 because of the virus, and so we 14:34:32 did make it and got everyone's 14:34:34 lap tops and they're set at home 14:34:35 exam they're doing good. 14:34:37 They are -- at home, and they're 14:34:39 doing good. 14:34:40 They send in a report on their 14:34:43 work everyday to me and to the 14:34:45 program manager. 14:34:51 And the BAINBRIDGE office, we 14:34:51 are here. 14:34:53 How I do that is I will be here 14:34:55 and I will let certain other 14:34:57 staff come, make sure they 14:34:58 answer their calls and 14:34:58 everything. 14:35:00 They also have lap tops and 14:35:02 things at home also. 14:35:06 But one of them has a problem 14:35:07 with hers. 14:35:09 She's in the country so she does 14:35:11 come everyday but the office is 14:35:13 not open to the public. 14:35:18 But we do can still get up. 14:35:21 What we can mail we mail to the 14:35:23 consumers and the ones right 14:35:26 here can come to the office. 14:35:28 We will take special precautions 14:35:30 to give them their items, but 14:35:31 they can come. 14:35:32 >> Okay. 14:35:37 >> And so I am looking at though 14:35:43 BAINBRIDGE is not too bad but 14:35:45 we're still being cautious so 14:35:47 we're looking at mid May if the 14:35:49 governor says that's okay. 14:35:51 But the not we will be going to 14:35:54 June 1st and we will still be 14:35:56 only by appointment. 14:36:00 And we will have masks and 14:36:02 gloves for anyone who comes in. 14:36:03 >> Okay. 14:36:05 >> Sounds good. 14:36:12 Be sure to keep us informed if 14:36:14 mid May is something that you 14:36:18 actually decide to do. 14:36:21 And -- text me, she is also look 14:36:26 -- Nancy, I'm sorry, with the 14:36:29 DRC she are looking at mid June 14:36:37 as well. 14:36:39 But it could be later. 14:36:40 It could be toward the end. 14:36:42 They're doing construction 14:36:44 within their building and hope 14:36:46 they will be able to accommodate 14:36:49 the staff and the public. 14:36:50 So right now they're looking at 14:36:52 mid June as well. 14:36:55 But we will be -- SILC will be 14:36:59 providing information on our web 14:37:01 site in regards to the opening 14:37:06 of centers and how they plan to 14:37:07 do that or how you guys plan to 14:37:08 do that. 14:37:11 So just be sure to keep us 14:37:12 informed and let us know exactly 14:37:15 how that will actually happen. 14:37:22 So we're going to go back. 14:37:23 Did I miss any of our directors? 14:37:23 I just wanted to make sure that 14:37:25 I didn't miss any of our 14:37:28 directors. 14:37:29 >> Okay. 14:37:33 We are going to go through our 14:37:34 guest list rather quickly, so if 14:37:36 you can limit your comments to 14:37:45 maybe one or maybe two I would 14:37:46 greatly appreciate it. 14:37:47 So we will start with anybody I 14:37:49 know and then we will allow 14:37:50 anybody else an opportunity to 14:37:51 speak. 14:37:57 So let's start with Kay 14:37:57 Mcgill. 14:38:00 >> Now I know Kay has something 14:38:03 for us. 14:38:06 >> Are you still on the call, 14:38:06 Ms. Kay? 14:38:09 You may be on mute. 14:38:10 Can you -- 14:38:11 >> There we go. 14:38:13 >> I am just talk away. 14:38:15 I thought I had unmuted myself. 14:38:18 But good afternoon, everybody. 14:38:18 Kay Mcgill. 14:38:22 Program manager of Georgia's 14:38:24 biggest program for adults 65 14:38:25 and over. 14:38:29 Two things, we are looking for 14:38:31 remote instructions and that is 14:38:34 with orientation mobility and 14:38:36 rehab therapy in addition to 14:38:39 technology and personal 14:38:40 adjustment counsel to blindness. 14:38:41 If you want to know how we are 14:38:44 doing this, give me a call. 14:38:47 I won't go into this on how -- 14:38:49 into the details but it is 14:38:50 working. 14:38:52 We started -- April 1 with our 14:38:55 instructors and it is working. 14:38:58 It is really working and I am 14:39:00 very proud of my instructors and 14:39:02 how they're doing it. 14:39:04 The second thing we had -- one 14:39:06 of our new peer support leaders 14:39:09 had just finished the training 14:39:11 with the independent living 14:39:13 training at disABILITY LINK and 14:39:15 we had scheduled our second 14:39:17 person for that training when 14:39:19 all of this hit so that had to 14:39:20 be postponed. 14:39:23 And I do want to compliment 14:39:26 Tiffany at Walton options as you 14:39:27 know Walton options is a 14:39:30 provider on her COVID team, her 14:39:32 COVID-19 team. 14:39:35 I think that is a creative what 14:39:37 she doing in order to connect 14:39:39 people with resources. 14:39:41 So I wanted to give kudos to 14:39:44 Tiffany on what she is doing, 14:39:47 and as far as the person to 14:39:49 person we are going to ere on 14:39:51 the side of caution and go with 14:39:55 whatever public housing and CDC 14:39:57 before any instructors start 14:39:58 going back into the homes and 14:39:59 that sort of thing. 14:40:01 So we will be wait ago long with 14:40:03 everybody else on -- waiting 14:40:07 along with everybody else on 14:40:09 some directions. 14:40:10 Thank you very much. 14:40:12 Call me or e-mail me if you have 14:40:13 any questions on how we are 14:40:15 doing the remote instructions. 14:40:16 Thank you very much. 14:40:18 >> Kay, before you hang out, I 14:40:20 mean before you mute yourself, 14:40:22 how can they find your contact 14:40:24 information? 14:40:27 >> Oh. 14:40:31 Well, send out the SILC stuff, 14:40:32 surely you all are getting all 14:40:33 of my stuff. 14:40:35 Are people getting it? 14:40:35 That. 14:40:37 >> I know I do, but I believe 14:40:41 there may be a -- a couple of 14:40:42 people on the call who may not 14:40:46 be a part of our mutual -- usual 14:40:47 gather. 14:40:50 >> Oh, okay let me give you the 14:40:52 phone number and probably the 14:40:53 simplest thing there is give me 14:41:49 keeping updated at tools for 14:41:50 life. 14:41:52 It has local and state 14:41:53 resources, it has apps and 14:41:54 assistive technology for 14:41:58 educational, for remote working, 14:42:01 and it will also have links to 14:42:02 our webinars we are doing. 14:42:05 Currently we have done webinars 14:42:07 on communication option which is 14:42:10 was the brain child of -- y'all 14:42:11 may know her. 14:42:13 She has been working really hard 14:42:17 with some of the folks that 14:42:19 neuromuscular disables to make 14:42:20 sure that should they become 14:42:23 hospitalized they do still have 14:42:25 communication options to 14:42:26 learning Morse code, learning 14:42:28 how to have your phone speak out 14:42:30 loud, some of the apps out 14:42:30 there. 14:42:33 We checked that out and we did a 14:42:35 solutions for living, learning, 14:42:43 working and playing webinar. 14:42:43 Those are archiveed and 14:42:44 captioned. 14:42:44 You can check those out as well 14:42:45 and we do have -- so definitely 14:42:45 use that page. 14:42:46 If you have things that you want 14:42:52 added to it, just e-mail Pam 14:42:53 Stevens and I put her e-mail 14:42:55 address in the chat box as well. 14:42:57 The last thing I will say is I 14:42:59 reached out to all of the center 14:43:02 directors and I have gotten word 14:43:04 back from some so much you. 14:43:07 Working working on a grant for 14:43:08 credit able that will help with 14:43:10 created new programs. 14:43:14 It will work on creating a 0% 14:43:16 interest loan as well as raising 14:43:19 the cap on our regular AC loan 14:43:21 and doing specific programs for 14:43:24 home modifications. 14:43:25 So if you haven't seen my 14:43:31 e-mails, your junk e-mail. 14:43:33 Reach out to me. 14:43:36 I can send letters from the past 14:43:37 as inspiration. 14:43:38 Thank you to those who have send 14:43:39 them. 14:43:40 We are trying to submit the 14:43:42 application by May 10 so we are 14:43:43 trying to get everything 14:43:44 together. 14:43:45 This is an exciting opportunity. 14:43:48 It is a grant -- specifically 14:43:50 for the financing program. 14:43:53 So with that we are also doing a 14:43:55 bunch of new training all 14:43:56 financial education services and 14:44:00 getting our equipment exchanged 14:44:00 relaunched. 14:44:03 So that's what I have got, and 14:44:05 again, check out the resource, 14:44:09 share it, and thanks. 14:44:11 >> Thank you so much, Danny. 14:44:11 I appreciate it: 14:44:13 I am one of those who will 14:44:16 have you taking care of it by 14:44:18 the end of today. 14:44:23 I appreciate it. 14:44:27 >> Jennifer page with the client 14:44:28 assistance program. 14:44:30 Do you have anything. 14:44:32 >> Good afternoon to everyone. 14:44:35 Thank you for your hard work and 14:44:37 pushing through with all that's 14:44:39 going on with this. 14:44:42 We are still taking calls and 14:44:44 cases with client who is are 14:44:44 calling. 14:44:47 The number hasn't really gone up 14:44:50 from what our normal was prior 14:44:53 to us, theELE working because 14:44:57 Stephanie and I tell work anyway 14:44:58 because there's clients all over 14:44:59 the state so it depends on what 14:45:01 we have going on where we might 14:45:02 be at any given time. 14:45:05 So it is a little different not 14:45:06 being able to go to our clients 14:45:08 to you know provide the service 14:45:10 or meet with VR and things like 14:45:12 that, but we have still been 14:45:14 able to get things accomplished. 14:45:16 We have been able to get copies 14:45:18 of case files and things so that 14:45:21 piece of our job has not 14:45:21 stopped. 14:45:22 We have been getting a lot more 14:45:24 information and referral-type 14:45:24 calls. 14:45:26 I just want to say our web site 14:45:31 is up and running. 14:45:32 The accessibility went through 14:45:34 the center for inclusive design 14:45:38 and invasion by Georgia tech, 14:45:40 and John reason free was our 14:45:44 point of contact and he and self 14:45:45 they worked both to -- worked 14:45:47 together to get everything 14:45:47 going. 14:45:50 It took a while but we're there. 14:45:53 Type in Georgia CAP.com and you 14:45:55 can see the web spite what we 14:45:56 have to offer. 14:46:00 We tried to make it as 14:46:01 interactive as possible with the 14:46:03 information that we shared so we 14:46:05 have definitely unloaded our 14:46:07 forms for people who would like 14:46:09 services, so we have our release 14:46:09 form. 14:46:10 We have the intake form. 14:46:15 We have the FAQ session, and 14:46:18 also, for clients, you know, 14:46:19 sometimes they can't find their 14:46:21 hand book or things like that 14:46:24 and our information is listed on 14:46:26 the GVRA web site for clients 14:46:30 and they can click on the SILC 14:46:31 and get back to our page and on 14:46:35 our page they can get over to 14:46:35 GVRA. 14:46:38 So we have been trying to keep a 14:46:39 compiled list also of different 14:46:42 resources for people who do call 14:46:44 with information and referral 14:46:45 questions. 14:46:48 So just yesterday I had a 14:46:49 gentlemen who is having issues 14:46:51 getting medication so we have a 14:46:53 few resources for that. 14:46:55 There's, you know, always, you 14:46:57 know, legal aide information on 14:46:59 Georgia bar. 14:47:02 So we try and assist clients the 14:47:05 best we can who aren't clients 14:47:07 off vocational rehab when they 14:47:09 have issues so typically if you 14:47:11 send that information and they 14:47:13 still can't find us we try to 14:47:14 work with them and find them 14:47:15 someone to connection them with 14:47:17 in order to get them the 14:47:19 assistance that they need. 14:47:21 So I think that is pretty mump 14:47:25 all that I have to offer, but 14:47:27 there is, like I said, we tell 14:47:31 work most of the time, so I'm 14:47:34 not actually sure when 14:47:40 advertisicly we will be back in 14:47:41 the VR offices yet. 14:47:41 I haven't really discussed that 14:47:41 with my staff or supervisors and 14:47:44 how they feel about everything 14:47:48 going on but our office with 14:47:50 Mark, their office hours are 14:47:52 only 10:00 to 2:00 now so 14:47:53 they're only seeing their 14:47:55 clients for that short window of 14:47:56 time and I am not sure when 14:48:03 they're going be opening back up 14:48:04 to see clients from 9:00 to 14:48:06 5:00 as they used to. 14:48:07 It is a wait and see right now 14:48:10 but I want things to open up and 14:48:12 see what happens around us 14:48:14 before we jump Head first into 14:48:16 anything. 14:48:19 >> Absolutely. 14:48:20 >> Great. 14:48:22 Thank you so much, Jennifer. 14:48:23 We always appreciate your 14:48:25 participation and keeping up 14:48:28 with all of -- with all of us 14:48:28 here. 14:48:29 Thank you. 14:48:36 >> You're welcome. 14:48:37 >> Tyson. 14:48:38 Did I pronounce that correctly. 14:48:39 >> You did. 14:48:40 Thank you. 14:48:42 This is SYNGE and I am actually 14:48:45 stabbing in for -- standing in 14:48:47 for Julie Kegley. 14:48:49 She had a conflict so I just 14:48:56 wanted to let everyone know that 14:48:57 we're still doing protection 14:49:05 advocacy work, that we have been 14:49:07 calling and checking on 14:49:09 residents and employees at the 14:49:12 different nurse fashion silties 14:49:15 and state hospitals. 14:49:17 We actually have a survey that 14:49:19 we are asking them, you know, 14:49:22 how are you testing for 14:49:23 COVID-19? 14:49:26 Do you have enough protective -- 14:49:30 protection equipment? 14:49:31 Have you had staff that have 14:49:34 tested positive? 14:49:37 If so, you know, what are your 14:49:39 protocols and so we are reaching 14:49:43 out to check on residents and 14:49:45 staff and if anyone has any 14:49:48 concerns about potential abuse 14:49:50 or neglector rights violations, 14:49:53 they can call the Georgia add 14:49:58 GAO GAO office 14:50:04 directly and the number is 14:50:05 404-885-1234 or you can e-mail 14:50:07 Julie Kegley and her e-mail 14:50:29 address is J Kegley at -- at 14:50:31 theGAO.org. 14:50:32 So you can call the number or 14:50:34 reach out to Julie and we will 14:50:41 be happy to speak with you one j 14:50:43 on on 14:50:48 jkegley@thegao.org 14:50:50 ? 14:50:52 Thank you so much. 14:50:53 We appreciate that and all the 14:50:55 work that the GAO does 14:50:57 especially right now with 14:50:59 everything and all of the 14:51:02 outbreaks and those within the 14:51:04 nursing homes. 14:51:06 The GAO will be a great resource 14:51:10 for them. 14:51:13 >> Is there anyone that I can't 14:51:15 see, any other agency or 14:51:17 organization that I missed? 14:51:18 If you would like to say 14:51:29 something, now would be the time 14:51:31 do we have one of our board 14:51:35 members that -- thank you for 14:51:38 dropping in, Matthew. 14:51:41 We appreciate it. 14:51:42 >> Yes, ma'am. 14:51:45 >> Sorry I'm so late. 14:51:47 >> That's okay. 14:51:50 It is good to hear your voice. 14:51:52 Hope all is well with you. 14:51:52 >> Yes, ma'am. 14:51:53 Thank you. 14:51:55 >> Absolutely. 14:51:57 >> Anybody else? 14:52:03 If not we are going to plan our 14:52:05 next board meeting which will be 14:52:06 -- oh. 14:52:07 I'm sorry? 14:52:12 Who did I miss? 14:52:13 >> Okay. 14:52:13 Sorry. 14:52:18 I thought I heard somebody try 14:52:19 to chime in. 14:52:20 We're not hearing you 14:52:21 unfortunately. 14:52:23 Let us go no the next slide, 14:52:23 please. 14:52:25 I think we're going to be 14:55:00 planning our next board meet? 14:55:02 So let's plan for the 9ths 14:55:06 from 1:00 to 3:00. 14:55:14 That will be our next SILC GILN 14:55:20 board meeting. 14:55:20 Thank you. 14:55:23 Things are popping up in my 14:55:28 thing now. 14:55:29 >> Okay. 14:55:33 Yes, I am getting, in the chat 14:55:41 box, I have one for both. 14:55:44 >> you mean the 16th, 14:55:44 Michael? 14:55:48 You have the 18th. 14:55:53 >> Okay. 14:55:54 What about the 16th? 14:56:03 I am getting a couple of -- so 14:56:05 let's go with the 16th. 14:56:12 July 16th from 1:00 to 14:56:14 3:00 and of course as things 14:56:17 come due, yeah, I was just 14:56:18 informed that allotted of 14:56:20 reports are due on the 10th. 14:56:22 This is correct so this will 14:56:24 give us a minute to breathe 14:56:27 before the next meeting, so 14:56:28 June 16th we will look forward 14:56:36 to seeing everything or hearing 14:56:36 your voice. 14:56:37 I cannot thank everyone enough 14:56:40 for all of the work that you do. 14:56:42 I really hope that you all 14:56:47 remain safe and well. 14:56:48 Thank you for looking out for 14:56:51 your staff as well as your 14:56:54 consumers and the people that 14:56:56 you work with. 14:56:58 Again, we cannot thank you 14:56:59 enough for all of your hard 14:57:00 work. 14:57:03 I am finding out that it seems a 14:57:05 little more challenging to work 14:57:08 remotely sometimes. 14:57:11 But we are, again, making things 14:57:12 happen. 14:57:14 So, if there's nothing else I 14:57:19 will put this back in the hands 14:57:25 of Sheila kitchens. 14:57:31 >> You may still be on mute. 14:57:31 >> Okay. 14:57:32 Yes, I'm sorry. 14:57:33 About that. 14:57:35 >> another board member that may 14:57:50 have -- that may be on, just to 14:57:51 check? 14:57:56 >> We have Matthew, but that's 14:57:58 still only -- does that make a 14:58:00 quorum? 14:58:01 I don't think so. 14:58:05 >> Well, you know something? 14:58:07 I think we're good because we 14:58:08 are going to have to come back 14:58:09 anyway. 14:58:10 >> Okay. 14:58:13 >> So you can just dismiss
